Once I place the lms directory into my linux dedicated server, what command line option do I need to do to get it to fire up a lms standing server?

+set_game lms

or something like that to the command line?

Will that do map rotations?

thanks

Please see the mappers guide, it has a bunch of details on how to set it up. And yes, the maps will rotate. Also you can create a shortcut too for it. Check out your base folder and take a look at the doom3ded shell script for a dedicated server. Here is mine.

#!/bin/sh
# Needed to make symlinks/shortcuts work.
# the binaries must run with correct working directory
cd "/home/calimer/Desktop/Doom 3/"
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:.
exec ./doomded.x86 "$@" +set developer 0 +set fs_game lms +exec server.cfg

For the Listen server
#!/bin/sh
# Needed to make symlinks/shortcuts work.
# the binaries must run with correct working directory
cd "/home/calimer/Desktop/Doom 3/"
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:.
exec ./doom.x86 "$@" +set developer 0 +set fs_game lms +exec server.cfg

Make sure you change your Doom 3 path to match yours! I doubt your username is calimer, haha.

Take care, I hope this helps.

Take a look at mapcycle.scriptcfg if you want to change what maps are included in the mapcycle.

Calimer,
Thanks for the info.. still having an issue though...

server is at 129.186.121.152 (Marathon Marthon LMS coop server)

if I try and connect to it I get
"can't connect to pure server at (my address and port(default))
missing 5 media pak files
(then same hex codes here)

any ideas? There server and my client are patched..
run in none pure mode (isn't that "not good")

You need to set si_pure 0 for your server, you can just add it in with that other list of stuff I showed ya to add. Or you can use my current server.cfg (place this in the lms directory). I hope this helps. Also make sure your linux server is using the 1286 installer, not the older one. Media pack errors are usually a result of the games not being updated enough. Take care.

I setup linux-dedicated server, then tried to connect with my windows terminal and got missing media file error...
Turned out that (DOH!) I wasnt loading the lms mod before I went to the server browser list. Shocked

Having lots of fun with the mod now.

Thanks
